mSpecs Editor is a free tool for managing mass spectral libraries with an additional focus on gas chromatography / mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography / mass spectrometry and related techniques.

Some of its features are:

  • Entering and visualization of variable data like names, spectra, molecular masses, retention indexes, formulas, structures etc.
  • Modern GUI-features like undo/redo, drag/drop, copy/paste.
  • Calculation of formulas and masses automatically from the component's molecular structure.
  • A built in scripting language (similar to JavaScript) to automate handling the libraries.
  • Searching a library using many different options.
  • Capabilities for import and export various file formats like NIST or JCAMP-DX format. 



mSpecs Editor is provided freely under the terms of the GNU general public license version 2.
